Issue with Mandatory Field Check in Internet Explorer

We have recently been made aware of a bug with Internet Explorer and date field in iPEGS Forms - unfortunately Internet Explorer is no longer being support by Microsoft as it has been discontinued as they have updated their browser to Edge.

The last version of Internet Explorer was released back in 2013.

"After January 12, 2016, Microsoft will no longer provide security updates or technical support for older versions of Internet Explorer."

As Microsoft are no longer providing any updates (including security) it is unlikely the issue will get resolved anytime soon although we will continue to look for solutions - therefore for any future forms we would recommend your users use a different browser where possible. We would also suggest that using Internet Explorer is a more general IT security issue and it is probably worth raising with their internal IT team.

We would recommend adding a message at the top of each form (or in the email notifications) along the lines of:

“Please note that support browsers for this web form include Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge. Unsupported browsers: Internet Explorer"

Alternatively you could change the date field to a text field and then specify the format and set the min/max number of characters i.e.

DD/MM/YYYY (Add this to the field description)
Min 10 + Max 10 characters in the field setting
